As she grew up, Maya attended Crossroads School (High School) in Santa Monica, California and then continued on to the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she graduated in 1995 with a B.A. in photography from Porter College.

Career:
As well as appearing on SNL she has also appeared in a few movies, such as Shrek the Third (as Rapunzel, 2007), 50 First Dates (as Stacy, 2004) and Grown Ups (as Deanne McKenzie, 2010).
